JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
The position holder is responsible for collaborating with authorized inspection contractors to provide superior inspection services and certifications related to Electrical items. This role is essential for the
comprehensive assessment and certification of our physical assets, which involves meticulous analysis and evaluation of equipment, machinery, and infrastructure. The objective is to certify that our equipment
complies with industry operating standards, operates without functional issues, identifies potential functional and safety concerns at an early stage, and recommends appropriate corrective actions alongside asset
fitness certifications. The main responsibility is to effectively facilitate the safe and efficient functioning of electrical systems and equipment at our Ras Al Khair site. The role will collaborate with the inspection
contractor to assess, test, and evaluate electrical components and systems, ensuring adherence to the standards, regulations, and safety protocols set forth by International Maritime Industries.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Perform pre-inspection planning with ability to read and understand architectural blueprints, electrical panel schedules and other relevant documents aimed at achieving the safety, functionality, and safety code
compliances of the electrical system during inspection work scope.
• Coordinate Electrical Inspection Contractors during inspections work execution such as but not limited to functional inspection, safety inspection, periodic inspection (visual inspection and technical test), compliance
inspection and initial installation inspection
• Interpret inspection reports, and identify as well as address discrepancies, the latter as a prerequisite for approving inspection results.
• Conduct electrical inspections on new and existing electrical installations, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards
• Write detailed asset inspection execution reports with ability in recommending corrective actions to resolve non-compliant or unsafe electrical installations and systems
• Provide technical advice on electrical installation matters to engineers, contractors, and inspectors
• Participate in the development and updating of codes, standards, and guidelines
• Engage in and makes constructive contributions to field electrical inspections, as well as providing relevant inputs into the periodic assessment and certification schedule for inspections.
• Ensure the implementation and completion of established inspection strategies, procedures, standards, and plans, while providing feedback to the Asset Inspection Manager regarding any failures, variations, or
amendments.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for Asset Inspection scope of work that are pertinent to tracking and effectively managing the comprehensive inspection process ensuring no milestone sleeps
or additional cost to company.
• Review and improve the performance status of equipment in relation to the KPIs of electrical inspection programs at facilities, based on preventive maintenance programs, inspection routines, strategies, and prior
asset inspection results.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations)
• The Certified Electrical Inspector Certification Program is a plus.
Experience
• At least 6 years of experience in related field.
