To support the IT Manager in designing network/ system security standards, procedures and guidelines in order to ensure effective protection of KJO network and information system while monitoring implementation to maintain comprehensive, reliable and effective network/ system security programs and procedures and providing professional guidance and support to internal KJO divisions in carrying out the security activities.

Skills

•  Assists the manager in the development and implementation of IT policies, processes, and procedures to ensure all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled. 


•  Monitors the day-to-day operations of ITD to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established standards and procedures


•  Coordinates with Division Heads in designing and developing network and system security strategies, policies, procedures, guidelines and plans while assisting the Manager in effectively   implementing security procedures in line with IT strategy


• Provides technical guidance and training to IT users and designs and implement programs for user awareness, compliance monitoring and security compliance to ensure organisation wide 
  awareness of the importance of securing network systems


• Guides and performs in-depth analysis, testing, and evaluation of network and systems security parameters and provides technical expertise while coordinating and performing security tests to 
  assess compliance with security standards and procedures and follows up as required to improve security practices


• Coordinates and guides compliance activities to ensure successful implementation of the security review and upgrade programs; interfaces with technical teams to ensure that security issues are 
  timely addressed


• Supports the development of KJO’s risk management strategy as it relates to network and data security and conducts assessment of IT components, identification of network and security risks and implementation of actions to eliminate/minimize risk occurrence 
  and effect


• Monitors and controls information system security operations to ensure they meet and exceed the service levels agreed with users and conform to relevant technical and security standards within 
  budgeted cost


•  Identifies fraudulent activities related to network systems, conducting necessary investigations and reporting findings to Manager in order to take appropriate corrective actions


• Coordinates with other departments within KJO and external Contractors at the working level to maintain a smooth working condition in order to facilitate and expedite any ongoing jobs.


• Works closely with Network, Computer Services, Functional representatives and network teams to ensure optimum network performance. Continually liaises and coordinates with customers to 
  improve services and provide guidance and direction to provide status on the ongoing projects.


• Reviews proposed projects (related to System Security) to ensure that the project is economically viable and suitable to the current requirements and needs of the company in order to make the 
  necessary recommendations.


• Reviews performance of contractors working on projects to ensure that the company is performing as expected and all outsourced projects get completed as per budget and time agreed


• Proactively protects the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information in the custody of, or processed by, the company, providing regular reports to the Manager regarding the 
  effectiveness of network and data security and making recommendations for the adoption of new procedures and technologies as required.


• Assists in the preparation of Departmental budget by preparing analysis and data related to specific elements as directed.


• Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures in the section in order to promote a healthy and safe work environment.
