Job Purpose

Is responsible for overseeing and managing the technical services teams for Aircraft Systems, Avionics, Propulsion, Aircraft Structures, Predictive Maintenance, Reliability Program, Maintenance Planning and Records. This role exists to ensure the efficient and safe operation and airworthiness of Air Arabia's fleet by coordinating and implementing policies, procedures, and best practices in these specialized engineering areas and by performing proper Oversighting to all Contracted Maintenance organization AMOs and Vendors



Key Result Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the technical services teams for Aircraft Systems, Avionics, Propulsion, Aircraft Structures, Predictive Maintenance, Reliability Program, Maintenance Planning and Records.
  • Ensure that all technical services teams meet regulatory requirements, OEM recommendations, and operational needs.
  • Overseas the evaluation and update of Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, modifications, and repairs for the airline's fleet. Ensuring that all necessary safety and performance-related updates are promptly implemented to meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Lead efforts to identify and implement corrective measures and modifications for airworthiness findings in consultation with specialized teams. 
  • Manage Maintenance Planning department to optimize maintenance programs and ensure fleet availability.
  • Coordinate the induction of new aircraft into the fleet in liaison with the Regulator for necessary approvals to ensure a smooth and compliant integration process.
  • Oversees the performance of the Contracted Organizations, managing day-to-day issues related to maintenance performance, including timeliness, quality, and cost.
  • Initiates remedial action with the Contracted AMO for maintenance performance shortfalls, managed via daily communications and regular meetings.
  • Working with the Air Arabia DMM Technical services Team providing Continuous Airworthiness Management Services, to ensure that the Air Arabia DMM AMP, is maintained current with the Airbus MPD, and fully incorporates the experience gained from the Aircraft Reliability Program.
  • Review maintenance forecasts and ensure cost-effective planning while maintaining safety standards.
  • Oversee the timely renewal of Certificate of Airworthiness documents for the entire fleet to guarantee uninterrupted flight operations, regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure the timely review and revision of the airline’s General Maintenance Manual (GMM) to align with industry best practices and regulation updates.
  • Ensures the accuracy of engine trends, oil consumption, and other predictive maintenance indicators and plans necessary maintenance actions to proactively address potential issues.
  • Facilitate the management of maintenance costs while upholding safety standards to ensure financial stability and ongoing compliance with regulatory and industry safety requirements.
  • Ensure scheduled Essential Maintenance checks required in the AMP are effectively planned, contracted, and delivered with minimum impact on aircraft utilization and availability.
  • Monitor the performance of the Technical Services Team, ensuring that maintenance task cards and data are accurate and reflect the requirements of the AMP.
  • Prepare the strategic maintenance plan based on airline network forecasts and the Maintenance Program schedule. Ensure that the plan is coordinated and agreed with the Contracted AMO, logistics, operations, network, etc.
  • Lead in the selection of Heavy Maintenance providers and develops contracts for C-checks and other major maintenance visits, generating the work scope and coordinating with the Contracted Heavy Maintenance MRO, monitoring and coordinating the compilation of check package content.
  • Ensures that data required for implementation of the Continued Airworthiness Surveillance (CAS) program is collected and analyzed.
  • Ensure GACA requirements are met in respect of the AMP and CAS. Monitor the AMO (Engineering Group) performance in delivering timely solutions to fleet reliability issues.
  • Ensure that reliability defects and operational events relating to aircraft, engines and components are promptly addressed by the relevant supplier.
  • Prepare for audit checks and contribute to the closure of occurrence reports and audit findings.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Aircraft/Aeronautical/ /Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Proven skills in analysing data, identifying issues, and recommending solutions.
  • Exposure to Quality Assurance, Safety, and Audit practices related to aircraft continuing airworthiness.
  • Skilled in developing and enhancing maintenance programs to optimize productivity and minimize cost.
  • Familiarity with rules and regulations of Civil Aviation Authorities.
  • Strong professional knowledge of aircraft maintenance and defect rectification, airline dispatch requirements and technical operations.
  • Strong professional knowledge materials management including inventory level planning.
  • He/She should be an ambassador for Air Arabia DMM’s values of safety, operational excellence, and commercial
  • performance in dealings with Maintenance providers.
  • In-depth knowledge of airworthiness programs requirements, regulations, and CAMO.
  • Strong expertise in aircraft maintenance program systems, software, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in designing, implementing, and monitoring policies, procedures, and operating manuals.
  • A sound knowledge of GACA/FAA/ICAO maintenance and airworthiness regulations including safety and human factors.

Work Experience
  • 10 years of experience in Aircraft Engineering and/or Maintenance in the Aviation industry; including minimum 4 years of experience in a management role.
  • Experience managing the performance of contractors and suppliers
  • Experience in aircraft reliability Program.
  • Experience in aircraft Modifications and customization
  • Experience in Aircraft Maintenance Program
