Job Summary

The UT Shear Wave Technician is responsible for performing shear-wave ultrasonic testing on welds and materials to detect internal flaws in compliance with Saudi Aramco standards, approved procedures, and international NDT codes. The role involves equipment calibration, inspection execution, data analysis, and preparation of accurate inspection reports for ARAMCO projects.

Key Responsibilities

Calibrate and set up ultrasonic testing equipment prior to inspections. Conduct shear-wave ultrasonic testing (UT) on welds, joints, and materials. Detect and evaluate internal defects such as cracks, lack of fusion, and inclusions. Analyze ultrasonic signals and interpret results in accordance with approved procedures. Prepare and submit detailed UT inspection reports and records. Ensure inspections comply with Saudi Aramco standards and applicable international codes (ASME, ASTM, API). Coordinate with QA/QC, welding, and construction teams for inspection activities. Maintain proper documentation and traceability of inspection results. Follow HSE procedures and ARAMCO safety requirements at all times.

Qualifications

Degree or Diploma in Engineering, NDT, or related technical discipline. Valid UT Shear Wave certification.

Experience

Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a UT Shear Wave Technician. Experience in oil & gas or industrial projects. Valid ARAMCO approval – Mandatory.

Technical & Other Skills

Strong knowledge of shear-wave UT techniques. Ability to calibrate and operate ultrasonic equipment accurately. Skilled in defect detection, evaluation, and reporting. Good computer skills for report preparation. Good command of English (reading, writing, communication). Familiar with international standards and ARAMCO documentation.
