Job Overview:The Carpenter is responsible for carrying out high-quality carpentry, joinery, and finishing works related to installation, maintenance, repair, and aesthetic enhancement of wooden and related fixtures throughout the hotel. During the pre-opening phase and ongoing operations, this role is critical in ensuring all carpentry and finishing works meet luxury brand standards, safety requirements, and aesthetic expectations.
Essential Job Functions:Support pre-opening activities including inspections, snag rectification, and final finishing of carpentry works. Install, repair, and maintain wooden furniture, doors, cabinets, wardrobes, frames, skirting, and decorative fittings. Carry out finishing works including painting, polishing, sanding, grouting, and silicone filling for carpentry-related items and minor civil interfaces. Perform minor joinery, partition, ceiling, and fixture works as required. Ensure all carpentry and finishing works comply with luxury hotel quality and brand standards. Read and interpret shop drawings, layout plans, and technical specifications. Coordinate with contractors and other engineering trades during pre-opening and operational phases. Attend guest room and public area carpentry-related maintenance requests promptly. Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize defects and downtime. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe and serviceable condition. Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies. Support refurbishment, modification, and touch-up works as required.
Qualifications & Experience:ITI / Trade Certificate in Carpentry or equivalent qualification. Minimum 8–10 years of hands-on experience, preferably in a 5-star hotel or luxury hospitality environment. Pre-opening hotel experience is an advantage. Skills in painting, polishing, sanding, grouting, and silicone filling are considered an added advantage.
