Job Description

 

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in construction to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the installation of electrical systems on construction projects. This role requires a professional with excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Electrical Design and Development

 

  • Create detailed electrical designs and specifications for construction projects.
  • Develop electrical schematics, blueprints, and layout drawings using CAD software.
  • Perform electrical load calculations and design power distribution systems.

 

Project Planning and Management

 

  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of electrical engineering tasks and projects.
  • Ensure that all electrical work complies with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, architects, and construction teams to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.

 

Construction Oversight

 

  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems on construction sites.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any electrical issues that arise during construction.

 

Documentation and Reporting

 

  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and progress reports.
  • Develop and submit necessary documentation for regulatory approvals and permits.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project status to senior management and stakeholders.

 

Quality Control and Safety

 

  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures for electrical installations.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety guidelines and protocols during construction activities.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections on site.

 

Client and Stakeholder Coordination

 

  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Attend project meetings and provide technical input and support as needed.
  • Address client concerns and provide technical solutions to meet their needs.

Position Requirements

 

Qualification and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically within the construction industry.

 

Skills

 

  • Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management abilities, including the use of project management software (e.g., MS Project).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to travel to various project sites as required
