Job Purpose
The Civil Quality Control (QC) Supervisor is responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and ensuring that all civil construction activities and materials comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and applicable international and local standards. The role supports the project quality objectives and ensures works are executed to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform regular surveillance and inspection of all civil construction activities, including earthworks, formwork, reinforcement, concrete works, masonry, finishing, and structural works.
· Inspect and verify materials delivered to site in accordance with approved material submittals and project specifications.
· Prepare and submit Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) for consultant/client approval.
· Ensure construction activities are carried out as per approved drawings, method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and project technical specifications.
· Conduct internal inspections before raising final inspection requests to the client or consultant.
· Coordinate with third-party inspectors and laboratories to witness field and laboratory tests.
· Carry out site inspections and report any deviations or non-conformances to the QC Head.
· Monitor corrective and preventive actions and verify their proper implementation.
· Maintain accurate quality records, including inspection reports, logs, Statements of Readiness (SORs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and test results.
· Liaise with consultants, contractors, and site engineers to resolve quality-related issues.
· Attend weekly and monthly meetings with clients and consultants to discuss quality matters.
· Ensure all works comply with relevant international standards such as ASTM, BS, ACI, and local authority regulations.
· Support internal and external quality audits.
Promote quality awareness on site and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
· Minimum 3 to 5 relevant experience in civil construction quality control (experience in large-scale or infrastructure projects preferred).
· Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, ITPs, and quality procedures.
· Familiarity with international standards (ASTM, BS, ACI) and local authority requirements.
· Good communication, reporting, and coordination skills
