Job Purpose:

  • To establish, pre-open, operate and grow the marina management activities for the company, across multiple locations and including both wet and dry berthing, marinas, jetties and private residence docks.
  • Holding full P&L accountability for IBU, including Capex and Opex requirements, monthly and weekly reporting.
  • To be responsible for the complete Testing and Commissioning for our marinas under construction.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

Functional Tasks

  • Understand all marina business processes and identify risks, safety issues and areas for improvement
  • Guide and mentor immediate reports in marina and business ethics
  • Process owner for quality and safety standards, Guest satisfaction, SLA and auditing results
  • Point of Contact / Subject-matter expert for all marina operations and facility requirement enquiries

 

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

  • Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.

 

Safety, Quality & Environment

  • Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Establish and ensure compliance in all administrative aspects in order to achieve and maintain ISO standards for Quality Assurance (9001), Environment and other marina specific activities.

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of department’s systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
  • Mentor all staff, identify and support training requirements – both internal and external

  • Understanding of all marina operations, correct process and safety risks
  • Ensuring correct procedure are documented, shared and adhered to through training, culture and practice

 

Planning

  • Ensure complete system of SOPs, forms and registers are in place to support any eventuality
  • Trial all emergency response procedures on a regular basis

 

Functional Competencies:

 

Reporting

  • Weekly, monthly and ad hoc reporting of financials, marina achievements, business process and other data points as may be required
  • Asset utilization and sustainability reporting including utility consumption, carbon footprint and sustainability objectives
  • Ensuring all registers on Risk, incidents, Near Miss and QHSE inspections are updated and reported on a timely basis
  • Co-ordinating with Project Delivery program schedules on new project from Concept Design to project mobilization, construction, testing, commissioning and ensuring compliance with set delivery expectations

 

Job Requirements:

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 15-20 years out of which 5 years marina management experience
  • AMM or CMM qualified, or equivalent certification
  • GCC marine operational experience
  • Power Boat level 2 or higher

 

Skills:

  • Budgeting, P&L, Capex and Opex, construction program reporting
  • Presentation skills, inc. Powerpoint and Excel
  • English language; Arabic language

 

Job Financial Dimensions:

 

P&L

  • Daily OPEX management. Generating monthly P&L reports from each functional area. Including commercializing all activities undertaken.

 

CAPEX

  • Preparing annual and 5 year CAPEX plan. Identifying long term facility and equipment requirement.
