Electrical Technician

The Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in water and wastewater treatment facilities. This role ensures the reliable operation of pumps, motors, control panels, instrumentation, and other electrical infrastructure to support uninterrupted water supply and wastewater treatment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment including motors, pumps, panels, transformers, and lighting systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Inspect electrical installations, wiring, and connections to ensure compliance with safety standards and specifications.
  • Conduct routine checks of backup generators, switchgear, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, reports, and documentation of electrical activities.
  • Collaborate with engineers and operators to support commissioning, upgrades, and expansion projects.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies and electrical safety regulations during all activities.
  • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies to minimize downtime.

Skills

  • Experience as an Electrical Technician in water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, or utility infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, motors, pumps, switchgear, and control panels.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA interfaces, and instrumentation (preferred).
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to work shifts and respond to emergency electrical issues.
