We are seeking an experienced Heavy Truck Driver to join our dynamic team at our automotive dealership in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in operating heavy trucks and be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently. This role is critical in ensuring that our operations run smoothly, and our customers receive their products on time. The Heavy Truck Driver will be expected to adhere to all safety regulations and maintain the highest standards of professionalism while on the road. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to quality service and possess excellent driving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy trucks to transport goods and materials to various locations while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that may occur during transport.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues that arise.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding transportation and safety.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior, ensuring that it reflects the company’s standards.
- Assist in training new drivers on safe driving practices and company policies.
- Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing any customer concerns professionally and promptly.
Preferred Candidate:
- Proven experience as a heavy truck driver with a clean driving record and valid commercial driver’s license.
- Strong knowledge of local and regional traffic laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members and customers.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet delivery deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues that may arise during transportation.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy loads and performing manual tasks as required.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Familiarity with GPS and other navigation tools to optimize delivery routes.
