Job Summary:
The Network L1 Engineer is responsible for providing first-level support for network operations, assisting in the monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the organization’s network infrastructure. This role involves working under the guidance of senior network engineers or the IT manager to ensure stable and secure network connectivity for all users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices such as routers, switches, and access points.
- Monitor network performance and identify faults or potential issues, escalating unresolved problems to senior engineers.
- Support the implementation of network security measures including firewalls and VPNs.
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and inventory records.
- Provide day-to-day support to users experiencing connectivity issues or other network-related problems.
- Assist in testing and deployment of new systems and network upgrades.
- Help manage network cabling, servers, and other network-related hardware.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field.
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and Routing & Switching.
- Familiarity with Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems.
- Preferably holding or willing to pursue certifications such as CCNA or equivalent.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
