Position Overview:

The Radio Service Department Manager oversees all service, repair, and maintenance operations related to radio communication systems and equipment. This role ensures customer satisfaction, efficient technical support, compliance with regulatory standards, and the smooth running of the service department.

Key Responsibilities: Operational Management:

- Plan, organize, and supervise daily activities of the radio service department.
- Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of radio communication systems, two-way radios, repeaters, base stations, and related equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards (e.g., FCC, national telecom authority).
- Maintain service schedules and prioritize work orders to minimize downtime.

Technical Leadership:

- Provide technical expertise and guidance to service engineers and technicians.
- Stay updated with new technologies in radio communication and recommend upgrades.
- Develop troubleshooting procedures and ensure accurate diagnostics.

Customer Service & Support:

- Manage service requests and provide professional after-sales support.
- Ensure timely response and resolution of client issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and partners.

Staff Management & Development:

- Supervise and mentor service engineers, technicians, and support staff.
- Conduct training to improve technical skills and customer service standards.
- Evaluate staff performance and manage scheduling, workload, and development plans.

Administrative & Financial Duties:

- Prepare and manage the service department’s budget, including spare parts and tools inventory.
- Generate reports on service activities, customer feedback, and departmental KPIs.
- Monitor revenue and cost efficiency of service operations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in radio communication services, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of radio frequency (RF) systems, two-way radios, trunked systems, and digital communication technologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, projects, and service contracts.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards.
