The Organizational Design Manager is responsible for leading enterprise-wide organizational design initiatives to ensure business agility, scalability, and workforce optimization. This role partners with senior business leaders and HR teams to design structures, roles, and workforce optimization that align with business objectives, drive operational efficiency, and enhance talent effectiveness. |
ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES The Organization Design Manager responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Organization Design - Lead and implement organizational design frameworks to optimize structures, reporting lines, spans of control, and job architecture.
- Conduct organization diagnostics to assess design effectiveness, workforce productivity, and role clarity.
- Drive restructuring, and realignment initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and change adoption.
- Partner with business leaders and HRBPs to create organization effectiveness roadmaps and structure workforce evolution strategies.
Job Architecture & Role Design - Develop and maintain job architecture, level frameworks, and career pathways to support talent mobility.
- Ensure job descriptions, role definitions, and competency models align with business needs.
- Optimize span of control and hierarchy models to drive efficiency and reduce complexity.
Change Management & Business Transformation - Lead the change management strategy for organizational transformations, ensuring leadership buy-in and employee adoption.
- Develop communication strategies and training programs to help employees adapt to new structures and operating models.
- Support leaders in navigating complex organizational transitions through advisory and facilitation.
Organization Effectiveness & Data-Driven Insights - Design and apply organizational health metrics to measure structure efficiency, talent deployment, and performance impact.
- Use people’s analytics and benchmarking to inform recommendations on org structure improvements.
- Conduct organizational effectiveness reviews, providing data-driven insights to optimize decision-making.
Stakeholder Management & Executive Consultation - Serve as a strategic advisor to HR leadership, and business leaders on organizational design and effectiveness.
- Facilitate leadership workshops, design-thinking sessions, and working groups to drive alignment on org structure decisions.
- Collaborate with HR leaders to integrate organizational design with talent management, workforce planning,

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills and Experience - 7+ years of experience in organizational design, workforce planning, or HR strategy, with a focus on large-scale restructuring and business transformation.
- Strong knowledge of org design methodologies (e.g., McKinsey 7S, Galbraith’s Star Model).
- Experience in business model transformation, digitalization impact, and agile operating model design.
- Proven ability to conduct organizational assessments, job analysis, and workforce analytics.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and executive communication skills.
- Experience with HR tech & workforce analytics platforms (e.g., Workday, OrgVue, Visier).
- Strong facilitation skills for leadership workshops and design-thinking sessions.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or relevant.
- Master’s degree is preferred.
- HR and Organizational Development Certifications are a plus.
