As a core member of the CEO Team, the Director of Financial Strategy & Planning, Executive Office; will serve as the principal financial architect and strategic advisor to the CEO. This role is pivotal in driving the company's financial strategy, supporting fundraising efforts, and conducting rigorous feasibility studies for strategic initiatives. Operating independently from the traditional finance department, this individual will deliver rapid, insightful financial analysis directly to the CEO, ensuring informed and agile decision-making. This position requires a highly skilled financial professional with a proven ability to build complex financial models, translate data into actionable insights, and effectively communicate with investors and stakeholders.


Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Serve as a key member of the CEO Team, providing critical financial input to strategic discussions and decisions.
  • Develop and articulate the company's long-term financial vision and strategy.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to identify and evaluate new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Advanced Financial Modeling & Forecasting: Construct and maintain sophisticated financial models to forecast revenue, expenses, cash flow, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Conduct in-depth scenario analysis to assess the financial impact of various strategic options.
  • Develop and refine financial models for fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, and other major transactions.
  • Fundraising & Investor Relations: Prepare compelling financial presentations and materials for potential investors.
  • Support the CEO in investor meetings, due diligence processes, and ongoing investor communications.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with investors and financial institutions.
  • Feasibility Studies & Investment Analysis: Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies for new product launches, market expansions, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Evaluate the financial viability of potential investments and acquisitions using appropriate valuation methodologies.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and recommendations to support investment decisions.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Generate regular financial reports and analyses for the CEO and the leadership team.
  • Identify and analyze key financial trends and variances, providing actionable insights.
  • Develop and implement financial dashboards and reporting tools to enhance transparency and efficiency.
  • Confidentiality & Compliance: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive financial information and strategic plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.


Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and valuation techniques.
  • Extensive experience in developing and presenting financial analyses to senior management and investors.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in financial modeling software.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CFA strongly preferred.
  • Significant experience in a startup environment or high-growth company is highly desirable.
  • Experience with building KPI dashboards.
  • Experience with a wide variety of valuation methods.
