Job purpose:

The role of is tasked with responsibilities revolving around the water analysis and treatment process across all wet utilities. The role holder shall coordinate for laboratory functions, conduct routine water quality tests, aid in the functioning of water transmission systems such as well water pumps, and govern the usage of relevant equipment. 

The role will also provide oversight maintaining operations records and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. The role holder will have to enforce and incorporate adherence to safety regulations, inspection of control devices, and wastewater sampling, as well as the capability to adapt to the latest trends in water treatment technologies. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

Functional Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate lab activities and conduct routine water quality tests and share treatment recommendations. 

  • Monitor water system operations regularly, inspect control devices and conducting wastewater sampling. 

  • Ensure warehouses are stocked with necessary materials and equipment. 

  • Ensure compliance with water quality regulations. 

  • Provide training on RSUC norms where required to lab personnel 

  • Stay updated on latest water treatment technologies. 

  • Provide inputs that would help on reporting and coordination with regulatory bodies, and report any deviations from standards promptly. 

 

Leadership & Relationship 

  • Work closely with suppliers or vendors to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in line with the strategic project management plans, policies and procedures.  

  • Coordinate with the supplier by setting priorities and objectives, managing performances, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching to meet the functional challenges and goals.    

  • Relay the team’s needs for necessary resources & requirements to senior management  

 

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports 

  • Follow all water treatment and lab policies, processes, procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled, consistent and effective manner.   

  • Assist in the Provide the necessary information and data for the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.  

  • Closely analyze all lab-related processes to identify areas of efficiency  

 

Safety, Quality & Environment   

  • Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.  

  • Adhere to safety protocols according to regulatory standards. 

 

Continuous Improvement     

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to the team’s systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.  

  • Assess operational processes and execute improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity.  

  • Ensure that all operations are carried out according to “international best practices” and standards.

 

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical engineering 

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience
