Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Sales Technical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in bridging the gap between our engineering solutions and our clients' needs, providing technical expertise during the sales process, and contributing to the development of innovative mechanical engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand client needs and present appropriate technical solutions.
- Provide technical presentations and demonstrations of our mechanical engineering products and services to clients and stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver proposals, bids and technical documentation to support sales efforts.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather relevant data for project specifications.
- Engage in customer consultations, providing insights regarding mechanical engineering design and construction practices.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of industry trends, product developments and competitive landscape.
- Liaise with engineers and project managers to ensure customer requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare presentations and provide training and/or technical support to customers as needed.
- Participate in industry events and networking opportunities to promote company's technological capabilities.
Skills
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on sales or technical support.
- Proven experience in preparing technical documentation and proposals.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, practices and technologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced sales environment.
- Proficiency in engineering software (BIM, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ERP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Certifications:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is highly preferred.
- Certification in Sales Engineering or related field is a plus.
- Additional certifications relevant to mechanical engineering (LEED AP, PMP) will be considered an asset.
