Role Overview

Lead - Operational Risk will Support Senior Manager / Manager Operational Risk in the implementation of ERM Framework across NEOM and deliver risk management leadership across NEOM, and provide technical and project management assistance on all risk management activities

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Planning, Strategy, Implementation and continuous monitoring/improvement

  • Work with Senior Management to define appropriate role of Risk Management in the organization.
  • Assist in developing ERM strategies, objectives, processes, policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate periodic enterprise-wide risk assessment exercise/ workshops.
  • Ensure risk treatment action planning and track progress.
  • Identify risk issues that impact the NEOM company wide.
  • Responsible for assisting and as needed, leading the development and implementation of risk-related initiatives and risk sensing/risk awareness programs.
  • Create reports, summaries, presentations, and process documents to display results.
  • Support in the implementation/ enhancement of risk management technology tools (including the GRC solution).
  • Periodically review risk policies, procedures, reporting templates and framework to ensure everything is up to date.

 

Relationship Management

  • Engage and develop effective working relationships with teams within GRC as well as various other departments and sectors (Energy and Water, Procurement, Marketing, IT, etc.) to ensure alignment risk management matters and issues.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement ongoing risk reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, other executive management, and Internal Audit.
  • Partner with Business Continuity/ resilience team to support assessment of risk to business line processes and continuity plans, developing mitigation actions as needed.
  • Monitor and report the progress of Mitigation Action Plans.
  • Proactively engage the GRC Leads to monitor & report the risks, build tools & processes, drive risk informed decision making and enhance risk informed execution.
  • Analyze management information to identify potential risks areas, plan, and support enterprise risk reviews.
  • Issue accurate and timely reports identifying risk areas, making recommendations for improvement, and working with the business units until agreed actions are complete.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of working experience in internal controls, risk management, consulting, or / and compliance field in a multi-faceted organization or a professional services firm with 1+ years developing/ operating an ERM process and/ or in a broad risk management/ strategic consulting role for Executive and Senior Management.
  • Good understanding of ERM and internal control frameworks, risk assessment, and compliance standards such as COSO / COBIT.
  • Strategic/ enterprise wide/ collaborative (rather than compliance) mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to “win hearts and minds”; and communicate complex issues in a simple way to management, executives and the Audit Committee and Board.
  • “Facilitator” - able to organize, facilitate running and delivering quality output from risk workshops.
  • Ability to work in a continuously changing environment; and meet tight deadlines. Detailed/ results oriented. Problem solving/critical thinking.
  • Willing to learn risk quantification (to check validity of business plans/ key assumptions e.g. scenario planning/Monte Carlo simulation).
  • NEOM sector/ industry experience (e.g. Capital Projects, Technology, Energy, Leisure).
  • User-level understanding and exeperience in GRC, audit and risk management software/tools such as Enablon, Bwise, TeamMate, or similar.
  • Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio. SAP knowledge an advantage.
  • Willing to learn project management and document recording/ retention.
  • Advanced communication and report writing skills

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited university. A postgraduate degree would be an advantage.
  • Additional internationally recognized relevant professional qualifications such as CRMA, CIA, CISA, or CFE are highly desirable
