Technical engineer (CAD) engineers may work across various responsibilities from creating, adjusting, and revising drawings and models using CAD software. The CAD professional must ensure that the designs are not only practical, but also conform to company and industry standards.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • creating two and three-dimensional designs and technical drawings
  • designing frameworks for projects
  • completing project planning work, such as budget and timeline estimates
  • creating detailed design and construction plans for colleagues in other disciplines, such as manufacturing engineering or architecture, to follow
  • using computer software to create renderings and floor plans
  • developing quality standards and practice guidelines for design teams
  • Reviewing and analyzing specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
  • Modifying and revising designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
  • liaising with clients to understand their goals and offering technical solutions to achieve them
  • checking product designs for quality and performance according to client specifications
  • ensuring product designs are safe and conform to any relevant legislation or industry regulations

Skills


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar or related field.
  • Proficiency in the latest CAD software is crucialExceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experienced working in a team environment and working cross-functional with other departments.
