Inventory Management:

  1. Inventory Control:
  • Oversee the organization’s tools and equipment inventory, ensuring proper tracking and management of stock levels.
  • Maintain accurate records of all tools and equipment, including serial numbers, usage history, and condition.
  • Conduct regular stock audits to ensure inventory accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
  1. Procurement Support:
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure the timely acquisition of tools and equipment based on project or operational requirements.
  • Prepare inventory reports and usage forecasts to support the procurement process.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment meet organizational quality standards and budget guidelines.

Logistics and Distribution:

  1. Equipment Distribution:
  • Coordinate the delivery and allocation of tools and equipment to various departments, projects, or teams as needed.
  • Manage the tracking of equipment to ensure it is used efficiently and returned on time.
  • Develop and implement a process for checking in and checking out tools and equipment, ensuring that everything is accounted for.
  1. Transportation Management:
  • Oversee the safe transportation and delivery of equipment between storage facilities, work sites, and departments.
  • Organize shipping or transfer logistics, ensuring that equipment is properly packed, labeled, and transported in compliance with safety standards.

Maintenance and Inspection:

  1. Regular Maintenance:
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are regularly maintained, serviced, and repaired to meet operational standards and safety regulations.
  • Work with maintenance teams or third-party vendors to schedule preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and any adjustments made to equipment.
  1. Safety and Compliance:
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations related to equipment use, storage, and transportation.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment meet health and safety standards and are ready for use without risk to employees or the environment.
  • Regularly inspect tools and equipment to detect wear, damage, or safety hazards and take corrective actions as necessary.

Documentation and Reporting:

  1. Record-Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming, outgoing, and stored tools and equipment, including repair and maintenance logs.
  • Generate inventory reports, usage trends, and equipment performance data to inform management decisions.
  • Create and update equipment manuals, handling instructions, and operational guidelines for users.
  1. Reporting:
  • Prepare regular reports on the status of equipment inventory, maintenance activities, and any issues related to logistics or tools usage.
  • Report any discrepancies in inventory, damage to equipment, or safety violations to management in a timely manner.

Continuous Improvement:

  1. Process Optimization:
  • Identify opportunities to streamline logistics processes related to equipment and tools handling.
  • Recommend improvements in equipment storage, maintenance schedules, or inventory management systems to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement best practices to optimize the lifecycle of equipment, reducing unnecessary expenditures and downtime.
  1. Training and Support:
  • Provide training to staff on the proper use, storage, and maintenance of tools and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Support team members in troubleshooting and resolving any equipment-related issues on-site or in storage.


Skills

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ Experience in logistics
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment commonly used in the industry (e.g., construction, manufacturing, etc.).
  • Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar tools).

Skills:

  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and an ability to maintain accurate records of equipment and tools.
  • Logistics Management: Knowledge of logistics, inventory management, and supply chain processes related to equipment.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and address equipment-related issues and logistical challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for working with teams, vendors, and other departments.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet operational deadlines.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with inventory management software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment commonly used in the organization’s industry.
  • Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance, including troubleshooting, basic repair, and understanding maintenance schedules.
