Project Coordination:
- Landscape Scope Management:
- Oversee the execution of the landscape design, ensuring that all aspects (softscapes, hardscapes, irrigation, etc.) are included in the scope and are delivered as per the project requirements.
- Work closely with landscape architects, design teams, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration of the landscape elements into the overall project.
- Scheduling and Budgeting:
- Develop, manage, and update the landscape package schedule, ensuring that all milestones are met on time.
- Monitor and control the landscape budget, ensuring that costs stay within the prescribed limits and adjusting resources as necessary to avoid overruns.
- Procurement Management:
- Coordinate procurement of all materials, including plants, hardscape materials (pavers, stones, concrete), and irrigation components.
- Evaluate and select suppliers and subcontractors for various landscape components and negotiate contracts for competitive pricing and quality assurance.
Team and Contractor Management:
- Subcontractor Oversight:
- Hire and manage landscape subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring they adhere to project timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Facilitate communication between subcontractors and project teams to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any issues quickly.
- On-Site Supervision:
- Supervise the installation of landscape elements, ensuring quality standards, design accuracy, and adherence to project specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and check for issues that may need resolution.
- Provide hands-on support during critical phases of the landscape installation (e.g., planting, hardscape construction).
Design and Technical Support:
- Design Integration:
- Collaborate with landscape architects and designers to interpret and integrate landscape designs into the project. Ensure the landscape vision is properly executed.
- Review plans for constructability, offering recommendations for improvements where necessary to enhance project outcomes.
- Technical Expertise:
- Ensure that all landscape installations are performed according to best practices for drainage, soil quality, irrigation, and plant health.
- Advise the team on technical aspects of landscape installation, such as grading, irrigation systems, and sustainable practices.
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all landscape elements meet high-quality standards and match the approved design specifications.
- Monitor the completion of works in phases, identifying and addressing defects or inconsistencies as they arise.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all landscaping work complies with local environmental, zoning, and construction codes.
- Implement sustainable and water-efficient practices, such as using native plants, efficient irrigation systems, and eco-friendly materials where applicable.
- Safety Oversight:
- Enforce safety standards on site, ensuring that all landscaping work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Client and Stakeholder Communication:
- Client Liaison:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the project team and the client for all landscape-related matters.
- Provide regular updates to the client on progress, address concerns, and ensure any design changes are communicated clearly and executed accordingly.
- Stakeholder Reporting:
- Prepare and deliver progress reports for clients, senior managers, and stakeholders, highlighting key achievements, risks, or delays in the landscape portion of the project.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as construction, civil engineering, and environmental teams, to ensure the landscape package aligns with other project activities.
