ROLE OVERVIEW

The TOS Automation Senior Manager – Port is r to oversee IT operations at our port's terminal facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Terminal Operating System (TOS) implementation, development, and management, alongside operational experience in container terminals.

 

This role focuses on timely TOS implementation, optimization for efficiency, managing vendor relationships, and leading key TOS projects. The successful candidate will possess excellent logical thinking, strategic mindset, teamwork skills, and hands-on experience with TOS, Gate Operating Systems (GOS), and automated equipment.

ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES

The TOS Automation Senior Manager – Port’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

 

Systems Operations

  • Lead the design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of the Terminal Operating System (TOS) to support automated port operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Oversee both container and general cargo TOS, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Drive TOS strategy and initiatives by implementing best practices to ensure TOS success and its
  • data.
  • Manage vendor relationships while monitoring performance to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Foster collaboration between TOS and operations teams to ensure systems are built and utilized efficiently
  • Provide training and support to TOS users, offering leadership and mentorship to the IT team while  promoting a collaborative environment.
  • Focus on TOS optimization and adaptability to changing needs.
  • Lead complex TOS projects, including system upgrades and operational changes, to enhance terminal growth and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with various teams to align TOS strategy with business objectives, emphasizing continuous improvement.
  • Implement effective TOS risk management practices to identify and mitigate potential risks.

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Set performance objectives, provide support, and offer regular feedback on staff performance.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of TOS experience in semi-automated or automated terminals.
  • Strong background in TOS development and optimization, TOS testing and upgrades, automated port systems and integrations, with a deep understanding of Port Operations.
  • Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams of IT and Operations.
  • IT management experience
  • Demonstrated success in vendor management, including contract negotiation and performance management.
  • Solid project management experience, with a track record of successfully leading large-scale IT initiatives.
  • Excellent people management skills, with the ability to lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team.
  •  Expertise in IT risk management.
  • Strong strategic planning and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
