- Ensuring Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Lab inventory.
- Asses the lab operations to find out cost saving opportunities without compromising in quality of results.
- Carrying out lab tests, handling tests through VIDAS, VITEK equipment, Biochemical analysis.
- Quality and Laboratory ISO 17025 Operation knowledge.
- Strong hands-on skills in conducting Microbiology lab tests on food products by different methods including the advanced test methods (VIDAS, TEMPO, VITEK, PCR etc).
- Review, maintain and develop procedures, SOPs for lab testing, calibrations, equipment maintenance.
- Ensure all the lab tests, environmental tests, internal calibrations are conducted as per the testing plan and maintain the records.
- Conduct trainings on GLP, lab testing, calibration etc., verify the accuracy and effectiveness.
- Coordinate external lab tests and calibrations as per the plan.
- Handling proficiency tests and coordinate the sample arrangements as per the test plan.
- Develop and optimize analytical methods to increase efficiency of the lab.
- Monthly lab inventory to ensure all test materials, equipment, other consumables to ensure no interruptions for lab testing.
- Conducting shelf-life study and review the results to define the accurate product shelf-life.
- Review, maintain, and write all procedures for the lab analytical testing and equipment maintenance.
- Experience in managing ISO17025 audits, also in BRC, ISO22000 etc.
Skills
Academic and professional qualifications:
- Bachelor’s / Masters’ Degree in Microbiology, specialization in Food & Beverage, Life science, laboratory technique.
- Strong hands-on skills in conducting Microbiology lab tests on food products by different methods including the advanced test methods (VIDAS, TEMPO, VITEK, PCR etc).
- Knowledge and experience in ISO17025, and BAM-FDA methods and perform all manual and Automated operations on various materials.
- Strong knowledge in physiological and morphological characteristics and identify microorganisms.
- Experience in Lab management, GLP, ISO17025, HACCP, Food safety and quality systems.
- Skills in Microsoft office (outlook, word, excel, PowerPoint, Teams etc).
- Strong understanding of food safety, quality standards and regulatory compliance in the food industry.
- Excellent leadership and team management, decision making skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A great Team player and flexible to any changes.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills within and outside the organization.
Experience:
- 3 years or more experience in Microbiology Lab operations and lab tests.
- Excellent knowledge of Media preparation, sample preparation, Manual culture, ELIZA and ELFA, VIDAS, VITEK equipment, biochemical analysis, stains, and weighing equipment.
