Project Manager (Water Networks & Sewer)
Job Description
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing complex water network and sewer projects from inception to completion. This role requires a strong technical background in civil engineering, coupled with exceptional project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution:Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed schedules, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, and clients, to ensure smooth project execution.
- Manage project budgets and ensure financial accountability.
- Technical Oversight:Review and approve engineering designs and specifications related to water networks and sewer systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and local codes.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams and resolve technical challenges.
- Quality Assurance:Implement robust quality control procedures to maintain project quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and rectify any quality issues.
- Ensure timely completion of projects within budget and scope.
- Contract Management:Manage contracts with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Monitor contract performance and resolve any disputes or claims.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Risk Management:Identify and assess project risks.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and control project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in water network and sewer projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, hydraulics, and hydrology.
- Certified as a Project Manager by the National Water Company (NWC)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
- A strong understanding of contract administration and procurement processes.
