Quality Control Inspector

The Quality Control Inspector for Meat is responsible for ensuring that all meat products received meet Panda's specifications and quality standards. This role is critical in preventing sub-standard products from entering the food chain, thereby safeguarding consumer health and maintaining the integrity of the brand. The inspector will carry out inspections, monitor temperature controls, and ensure compliance with established quality assurance processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Schedule and prepare for receiving fresh meat deliveries, ensuring all protocols are followed.
  2. Implement the distribution center's (DC) receiving standard operating procedures (SOP) for product intake.
  3. Monitor and check the temperature of vendor vehicles and products before offloading and dispatching to stores.
  4. Conduct thorough product inspections and make recommendations to the Team Leader (TL) and Assistant QC Manager regarding acceptance or rejection of deliveries based on established specifications.
  5. Document all non-conformities of received or rejected items with photographic evidence and report findings to the TL.
  6. Complete all required receiving logs and checklists accurately and promptly during inspections.
  7. Ensure proper product storage practices are followed according to categories and storage conditions.
  8. Adhere to Panda's receiving processes to maintain quality standards.
  9. Check Brix and firmness levels for all related fruits in accordance with specifications.
  10. Monitor the pest control system within the DC to prevent pest infestations.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. High school diploma required; college-level education preferred.
  2. Familiarity with QA regulations set by the Corporate QA Team.
  3. Proficient in English; knowledge of Arabic is a significant advantage.
  4. Ability to work independently and demonstrate self-motivation.
  5. Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  6. Capability to recommend improvements to standards and processes.
  7. Ability to reject deliveries with a technical rationale to support decisions.
  8. Proficient literacy skills, including computer usage, email communication, reporting, and operating digital cameras and industrial thermometers.
  9. Previous experience in a related field is mandatory, preferably in fresh produce or grocery foods.
  10. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
