Summary:

The General Manager of Logistics and Warehouses will be responsible for overseeing and managing all logistics and warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of automotive parts and vehicles.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute logistics and warehouse strategies to align with the company’s automotive supply chain and distribution goals.
  • Lead daily operations of logistics, warehousing, and distribution, ensuring accurate and timely movement of parts and vehicles.
  • Manage the supply chain from procurement to transportation, inventory control, and distribution.
  • Ensure effective inventory management by maintaining optimal stock levels, ensuring accuracy, and minimizing obsolete inventory.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and transportation providers to optimize delivery schedules and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate closely with production, sales, and service departments to guarantee timely delivery of parts and vehicles based on demand.
  • Implement warehouse safety policies, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Optimize warehouse efficiency by making the best use of space, equipment, and labor resources.
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics and warehouse operations, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Manage the logistics and warehouse budget, focusing on cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high service quality.
  • Oversee maintenance and repairs of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and delivery vehicles.
  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of warehouse supervisors, logistics coordinators, and staff, ensuring proper training and performance evaluation.
  • Implement inventory control systems to monitor the movement of automotive parts and vehicles across multiple locations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including customs, vehicle safety, and environmental standards.
  • Support sustainability initiatives by integrating green logistics practices.
  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, negotiating contracts to ensure cost-effective services.
  • Develop contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions, such as transportation delays or inventory shortages.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements to continuously improve logistics and warehouse operations.

Skills

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • A master’s degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years in a senior leadership role overseeing large-scale warehouse and distribution operations, with experience in the automotive industry preferred.

Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of logistics, warehousing, transportation, and inventory management.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities, focusing on process optimization and cost reduction.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics software.
  • In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations in logistics and warehousing.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with departments including production, sales, and customer service.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing large vehicle fleets and automotive parts inventories.
  • Strong understanding of the automotive industry’s supply chain dynamics.
