Job Purpose
An Associate Director - Design Management plays a critical leadership role within a design team, overseeing design projects from concept to completion and ensuring they align with the strategic vision of the RSG. This role requires a blend of creative vision, technical expertise, to deliver high-quality design solutions that meet RSG business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Contribution
Leadership and Management:
Lead and mentor a team of design/Senior design managers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Conduct performance reviews and manage team workload and resource allocation.
Project Oversight:
Oversee the design planning, execution, and delivery of design projects, ensuring they meet quality standards, deadlines, and budget constraints.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Construction, PMIS) to ensure cohesive and integrated design solutions.
Creative Direction:
Develop and communicate the creative vision for packages/projects, ensuring alignment with standards and business goals.
Review and approve design, and final deliverables.
Long Description
Consultant and Stakeholder Management:
Act as the primary point of contact for consultants and stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring satisfaction with design outcomes.
Present design concepts and progress updates to the senior management.
Strategic Planning:
Contribute to the development of design strategies and roadmaps.
Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in design processes and methodologies.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure all design work is consistent, high-quality, and adheres to brand standards.
Conduct regular design reviews and critiques to maintain high standards.
Budget and Resource Management:
Manage project budgets through the consultants, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
Job Requirements - Qualification & Experience
Education:
•Bachelor’s or, master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. architecture or civil/structural engineering).
•Advanced certifications in project management (considered advantageous)
•Professional Registration of a relevant field (considered advantageous)
Experience:
•Significant relevant experience (minimum 12-15 years) in airport infrastructure design and project management, with a focus on airport planning, design, infrastructure development.
•Demonstrable knowledge, experience and expertise in passenger terminal and airport buildings and infrastructure development design management, with at least 3-5 years in a management position.
•Proven track record of successfully managing design projects from concept to completion.
•Client-side design management experience (considered advantageous).
Previous Middle East residency/experience (considered advantageous).

Job Context
- Typical site office environment co-located with the Airport Technical & Construction Delivery
- Team with few occasions for remote work at head office.
- Travel will be required for consultants’ meetings, industry conferences, and workshops in KSA and Internationally.
