To fortify Arasco’s IT infrastructure by overseeing firewall configurations and implementing advanced cybersecurity measures, ensuring robust defence against cyber threats and compliance with security standards.
Key Accountabilities
Firewall Configuration and Management
- Design and implement firewall rules and policies, ensuring alignment with best practices and organizational security requirements.
- Monitor and analyze firewall logs and network traffic using advanced tools to detect anomalies and potential security breaches.
- Upgrade firewall firmware and apply security patches to address vulnerabilities and enhance firewall capabilities.
Cybersecurity Framework Implementation
- Develop and manage security architectures, including perimeter defenses, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and intrusion prevention systems (IPS).
- Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments and apply mitigation strategies to address identified risks.
- Integrate security measures with other IT systems and workflows to ensure cohesive protection across the IT environment.
Incident Detection and Response
- Lead and coordinate response efforts during security incidents, including forensics analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Utilize Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools to detect, analyze, and respond to security alerts.
- Document incident details, prepare detailed incident reports, and recommend changes to prevent future occurrences.
Compliance and Security Reporting
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and NIST.
- Generate and present regular security reports, including risk assessments, audit findings, and compliance status to stakeholders.
- Conduct internal security audits and implement recommendations to ensure continuous improvement.
Skills
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH is highly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT security or a related field with a focus on firewall management and cybersecurity.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of firewall technologies and network security protocols.
Experience with cybersecurity tools and technologies, including SIEM systems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration and reporting.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
