MAIN JOB PURPOSE: 


To ensure that all Field engineers/Field Technicians have enough work scheduled for them to complete in their day-to-day activities against the complexities of the engineer’s capability.

 

The Field Scheduler plays a crucial role in ensuring that all Field Engineers and Field Technicians have a manageable and productive workload. This customer-focused engineering position requires strong relationship-building skills and a commitment to optimizing service delivery. The Field Scheduler will coordinate breakdown schedules, manage service requests, and allocate resources effectively to meet customer demands while considering the capabilities of each engineer.

 

Ensure that engineers’ input is as what is recorded in the system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Maintenance Operations

  • Ensure that Field engineers/Field Technicians have jobs scheduled and assigned hourly/daily throughout the working week.
  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly schedules for field staff based on site requirements and resource availability
  • Oversee and coordinate breakdown schedules for field technicians, prioritizing urgent requests and balancing workload across the team.
  • Communicate with customers, personnel, and relevant parties to ensure service visits are completed on time
  • Monitor the allocation of personnel and equipment to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
  • Ensure processes are adhered to and followed correctly.
  • Cross check engineers task times against data entry from the smartphone.
  • Verify scheduling in accordance with customer demand and budgets.
  • Ensure all Field engineers are assigned to jobs in their skill level/complexity.
  • Ensure compliance is adhered to at all levels.
  • Engage with the operations/sales dept and schedule last minute repairs if needed.
  • In charge of completing the PHI and PDI forms
  • Close all jobs in accordance to the Engineering Excellence process each night.
  • Ensure that External Labourers jobs are scheduled and updated
  • Ensure that all inspections of machines are in conformance with manufacturer’s specification, company policy and the regulations affecting the use. Confirm that there is no deficiency or defect likely to affect the safe working of a machine. Notify the appropriate manager of any serious defect or unsafe equipment as required.
  • Preparation of MQD photos required by HDC for machine despatch
  • Identification of damages from off-hire machines
  • Preparation of Damage chargeables and liaise with HDC for invoicing to the customer
  • Support Engineering in installation of machine attachments such as nappies, wheel covers, fire extinguishers
  • Ensure servicing of machines and technical bulletin on machines under available status are up to date
  • Ensure TPI of machines going on hire are up to date
  • Verification of machine returns from off-hire matches with transport schedules
  • System update on machines collected daily


Quality, Health and Safety

  • Be an ambassador for and ensure compliance of Quality, Health and Safety standards and policies
  • Facilitate mandatory safety tool box meetings
  • Ensuring completion of initial safety and hazard assessments
  • Participating in safety and incident investigations
  • Maintain high levels of personal appearance, ensure uniform and personal protective equipment are used correctly


Team Management

  • Ensure that the Service Engineer team achieves depot and company daily, weekly and monthly targets
  • Delegate tasks and accountabilities, instruct, supervise, lead and direct the field engineering team



Skills

ESSENTIAL 

  • High school education or above
  • Ability to locate, fit, dismantle, reassemble and refurbish hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and diesel engines and components.
  • Competent Engineer with a complexity level of 3-4
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel
  • Prior supervisory experience with experience of assigning clear levels of responsibility
  • Act as an ambassador for the company, providing a high standard of customer care and always being polite. Relay appropriate customer queries to depot staff as required
  • Responsible for ensuring high levels of customer experience and satisfaction.


DESIRABLE 

  • Knowledge of LVis system
  • IPAF Operator Licence and /or IPAF Demonstrator Licence
  • KSA Driving License
