The Oil Spill Combat Engineer will be responsible for implementing strategies to manage and mitigate oil spills, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute response plans for oil spill incidents
- Conduct environmental assessments and impact analysis related to oil spills
- Coordinate and lead spill response teams during operations
- Implement containment and cleanup procedures using appropriate technologies and equipment
- Monitor and report on spill response effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement
- Provide training and guidance to personnel involved in spill response
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to ensure compliance and effective communication during spill incidents
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in oil spill response and management
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, safety protocols, and best practices for spill response
- Experience with oil spill response technologies and containment methods
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in challenging environments
