Role Purpose:

Our eVTOL company in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Airline Maintenance Manager to lead the development, communication, and implementation of efficient procedures, policies, and effective growth strategies for our maintenance department. As the Director of Maintenance, you will be responsible for ensuring that the department is properly staffed, managed, organized, trained, and directed to fulfill its responsibilities according to internal and GACA/FAA regulations. You will also represent the company internally and externally with industry groups and regulatory bodies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring and overseeing the pre-application process is complaint with GACAR for his department including the design, development, and implementation of short-term, intermediate, and long-term operational plans.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide technical support on a variety of tasks from flight testing to commercial operations.
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship as a liaison between company, clients, and the GACA with responsibility for the company's issued maintenance certificates and signing of correspondence.
  • Oversee all inspections, repairs, and component changes and accompanying documentation are accomplished in accordance with the manufacturer or GACA approved procedures, conforming to quality control standards, on schedule, and in compliance with GACA regulations
  • Oversee and review work orders while jobs are in progress monitoring for proper sign offs, supervising and inspecting as required
  • Plan and prepare maintenance or repair estimates and determine the scope of work and personnel required
  • Maintain all necessary records and logbooks, including certification in the aircraft permanent maintenance records that the aircraft is approved and returned to service
  • Act as the primary point of contact with flight crews on maintenance discrepancies related to Part 9 PART 101 and Part 135 fleet with an understanding of MEL and write-up process for each aircraft
  • Coordinate with the Director of Operations on the timely communication and correction of mechanical repairs, as well as planned inspections or maintenance work on the Part 91, Part 101 and Part 135 fleet around test & scheduled flights
  • Provide the Director of Operations with the current airworthiness status of aircraft under the Part 91, Part 101 and Part 135 fleet, forecasting downtimes to facilitate maintenance scheduling at optimal times and ensure timely deferral or correction of aircraft discrepancies
  • Responsible for ensuring aircraft are maintained in accordance w/ 14 CFR 21, 43, 91, 133 135
  • Accountable for ensuring that all Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) meet all regulatory and Company requirements for experience, training, and certification
  • Oversees acquisition of all parts and supplies for the Maintenance Department to ensure compliance with applicable GACA regulations and procedures
  • Will support the CEO and Accountable Manager drafting manuals Well experienced on understanding regulations to conduct a cross authority FAA/EASA assesment to support the authorities in drafting the new parts for AAM Acting as interim manager for Quality and Safety until the team ramp-up Define job profile and hiring team members for the department, establishing a learn and development program for new joiners Define SOPs for its department and overseeing compliance to the authorities Acting as proxy between the operator and the authorities when conducting regular audits.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • 20-25 years of experience within general aviation maintenance operations, including Part 145, or equivalent operational experience to include familiarity with aircraft maintenance scheduling, team management, and customer relations
  • Must have knowledge of, and maintain a current file of all applicable GACARs /FAARs/EASARs
  • Experience on Continuing Airworthiness Management.
  • Experience setting standards and operational guidelines.
  • Current FAA or EASA issued certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings and no violations
  • Ability to meet all GACA requirements and approval for the Director of Maintenance designation
  • Experience with aircraft management record keeping programs including CAMP Familiarity with requirements of 14 CFR Part 135, Part 91, Part 101, or EASA Part M and Part CAMO.
  • Interface and communicate well with customers, vendors, team members, flight crews, Chief Pilot, and Director of Operations

Qualifications:

  • Current Aircraft Inspector (IA) GACA, FAA or EASA Part 66 certificate
  • Any Aircraft or helicopter Pilot’s license preferred
  • Both A&P and Avionics ratings
  • EASA B1 and B2 preferred
  • Excellent project management experience
  • Founder or Co- founder of a Maintenance Workshop or Airline preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings
  • License in industrial technology is recomended
  • Excel in a results-oriented environment
  • Strong communication (written and oral)
