Travel Manager

A travel manager is responsible for managing all aspects of an organization's travel program and policies. This includes planning, organizing, and coordinating travel arrangements for employees and executives. The travel manager ensures that travel policies and procedures are followed, while also finding cost-effective solutions to meet the organization's travel needs. The incumbent may work with travel agencies, negotiate contracts with airlines and hotels, and manage the organization's travel budget. Additionally, the travel manager may assist with visa and passport applications, travel insurance, and other related tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  1. Develop and implement travel policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and industry regulations.
  2. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand travel requirements and preferences.
  3. Negotiate contracts with airlines, hotels, car rental agencies, and other travel suppliers to secure preferred rates and amenities.
  4. Coordinate and book travel arrangements, including flights, accommodation, transportation, and other travel-related services.
  5. Monitor and manage the organization's travel budget, seeking cost-saving opportunities and ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
  6. Provide guidance and support to employees regarding travel bookings, visa and passport requirements, travel insurance, and other travel-related matters.
  7. Stay up to date with industry trends, travel technology, and travel-related regulations.
  8. Maintain and analyze travel data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  9. Resolve any travel-related issues, such as flight cancellations, missed connections, or lost luggage.
  10. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during travel, including travel advisories and security precautions.
  11. Maintain relationships with travel agencies, airlines, hotels, and other travel suppliers.

Prepare and present regular reports on travel expenses, savings, and key performance indicators to management.



EXPERIENCE:


· At least 7 years' experience in Travel management.


EDUCATION:


Bachelor's degree in business administration, hospitality management, or a related field.


COMPETENCY:


  • Proven experience as a travel manager or in a similar travel-related role.
  • Strong knowledge of travel industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in travel management software and online booking tools.
  • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with visa and passport requirements, travel insurance, and other travel-related documentation.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations during travel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
