Role Purpose

The Director of Research and Healthcare Talent leads the development and implementation of research and health workforce strategy for a fully integrated health and wellbeing system for NEOM pioneers and future residents and visitors aligned with NEOM’s vision.

The Director has the active role in developing content and supporting process related to the health system research and workforce initiatives and projects.

 

The Director is responsible for leading teams and for guiding them in gathering the relevant information and compiling reports, to align with internal stakeholders to produce healthcare workforce strategy of the evolving healthcare system components.

 

The individual works very closely with the rest of the sector and formulates requirements and expectations on assets, equipment, and technical solutions. The individual will actively liaise with other relevant sectors during the development stage of masterplans and asset design projects.

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES

Key Activities

Strategy, Planning and Coordination

  • Lead the development of the healthcare academia, research and workforce strategy (ART) of Neom healthcare system
  • Identify key initiatives and interventions that are needed to achieve the strategy
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, researchers, and technology partners, to identify strategic ART opportunities 
  • Align with internal and external stakeholders.

Project delivery and Risk Management

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of experts in research, academia and talent to achieve strategic objectives. 
  • Foster partnerships with academic institutions, talent and industry leaders to advance healthcare research and talent acquisition and retention. 
  • Oversee and provide periodic reports regarding project progress, challenges, risks, and mitigation plans

Administration and Contract Management

  • Oversee the operational aspects of ART initiatives, ensuring efficient and effective implementation.
  • Lead the development of scope of work documents to support new contract establishment or renewal of existing contracts
  • Monitor and evaluated contract delivery and project performance
  • Lead all external communications activities (incl. internal/external marketing of the sector, maintaining promotional materials, developing strategic communications, etc.)

Relationship and Stakeholder Management

  • Participate in sector and division meetings and provide insight on the overall performance and directions of the sector.
  • Collate stakeholders’ feedback on issues, challenges and unmet requirements and develop action plans
  • Act as a role model for the sector in interaction with other sectors and departments

People Management

  • Lead the ART team to perform their operations in accordance with set policies and procedures
  • Promote a high-performance working environment embracing NEOM’s values

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge and Experience

  • 10-15 years of experience in academia, research and training in healthcare sectors.
  • Relevant experience in formulating strategic and analytical recommendations
  • Relevant experience in workforce planning, training and academia
  • Ability to research, formulate insights, and communicate clearly and concisely (both orally and in writing)

Education and Certifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in health science majors or Business Administration, (or equivalent) is required
  • Master’s in public health, business administration, medicine or related topics is required
