East and West Express, a leading logistics company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Chief Accountant to join our finance team in Dammam. As the Chief Accountant, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of our organization and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This position requires strong leadership skills, extensive accounting knowledge, and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance.

Job Responsibilities:

• Financial Operations: Manage the daily/monthly accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, invoicing, and fixed assets. KPI could be average time taken to process.
• Accounts Receivable (AR): Implement and monitor effective AR follow-up procedures to ensure timely collection of customer payments.
• Accounts Payable (AP): Review and approve invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies. Manage the timely payment process to maintain positive vendor relationships.
• Tax Compliance: Stay up to date on local tax laws and regulations. Prepare and submit all required tax filings accurately and on time. Liaise with tax authorities as needed. KPI could be percentage of tax filings submitted accurately and on time.
• Audit and Reporting: Oversee internal financial controls and prepare for external audits. Consolidate financial statements and generate accurate and timely reports for management and regulatory bodies. KPI could assess the accuracy of financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
• Financial Risk Management: Evaluate the effectiveness of measures taken to minimize financial risk to the company. KPI could be a number of significant financial risks identified and mitigated.
• General Ledger Reconciliation Accuracy: Ensure accuracy in account analysis and reconciliation of the General Ledger, particularly for Cost of Goods Sold (COGS). KPI could be percentage of reconciled accounts in the General Ledger.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Chief Accountant or in a similar senior accounting role.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
• Strong understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Experience with international accounting standards, such as IFRS.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and financial management systems.
• Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
