Job Purpose:
The IELTS Invigilator is responsible for overseeing the conduct of the IELTS exam to ensure that it is administered according to the set guidelines and procedures. The invigilator's role is to maintain the integrity and security of the examination process while providing a calm and professional environment for candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Examination Duties:
- Set up the examination room by placing candidate numbers, examination papers, and other necessary materials on desks.
- Verify the identity of candidates by checking their identification documents.
- Provide clear instructions to candidates regarding the examination procedures.
- Ensure that candidates are seated according to the seating plan.
- Distribute examination materials (answer sheets, question papers) in a timely and orderly manner.
During Examination:
- Monitor candidates throughout the examination to ensure compliance with exam regulations.
- Remain vigilant for any signs of cheating, misconduct, or irregular behavior.
- Assist candidates with any queries regarding the examination process, without providing any assistance related to the content of the exam.
- Record and report any incidents, irregularities, or breaches of exam regulations to the Test Centre Manager.
- Ensure that the examination is conducted in silence and that candidates do not communicate with each other.
- Time the exam accurately, including providing time warnings to candidates when necessary.
Post-Examination Duties:
- Collect all examination materials from candidates, ensuring that all papers are accounted for.
- Ensure that candidates leave the examination room in an orderly manner.
- Report any issues or concerns to the Test Centre Manager.
- Securely package and label examination materials for dispatch to the marking center.
Additional Requirements:
- Availability for training sessions.
- Ability to adhere to confidentiality agreements and ethical standards.
