Role Purpose

The Contract Manager position plays a pivotal role within our dynamic team, with a strong background in post-signature contract management and monitoring, financial evaluations of commercial proposals and negotiations with vendors, providing expert advice around company estimates, category planning, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management (SRM). Responsible for overseeing the procurement of high-value and high-risk services and supplies, this role also entails serving as a backup team lead, negotiating contracts with suppliers to secure favourable terms, and managing projects, tenders, and bidding processes for various stakeholders. With a solid foundation in procurement best practices, the Contract Manager will contribute significantly to ERI’s continued success.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES

 

  • Develop Strong Customer Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal customers to understand their procurement needs and provide effective solutions.
  • Lead and establish framework agreements with strategic partners of NEOM ERI, including the negotiation of any rates that are included in these agreements.
  • Provide expert advice with any financial information and pricing in catalogues.
  • Provide commercial and contract advice to internal customers and proponents
  • Expert in reviewing legal terms and conditions
  • Expert in evaluating commercial proposals
  • Procurement: Oversee the procurement of services and goods. Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement processes.
  • Team Lead Backup: Provide support as a backup team lead when necessary, ensuring the smooth operation of the finance and operations team.
  • Contracts Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favourable terms, pricing, and conditions for the organisation.
  • Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration and ensuring supplier performance meets company standards.
  • Ensure the SAP Ariba records are up to date with all supplier information and that all RFPs are delivered to the correct representatives.
  • Proactively solve conflicts and address issues that could occur between the pillar/department, sector, and other entities.

BACKGROUND, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • KSA or GCC experience (typically 3+ years) is a plus.
  • Fluent in English
  • Very strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Experience in working under little supervision
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and best practices.
  • Expert with contracts, tenders and SRM.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards related to procurement.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Project management skills to lead the development and execution of initiatives.
  • Professional certifications in procurement (e.g., MCIPS) is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, engineering, business, management, or related field.
  • 15 years’ proven experience in procurement, contracts and sourcing in a well-known University is mandatory.
  • Strong leadership qualities and ability to communicate across academic sectors effectively.
  • Ability to work across diverse teams within an academic environment.
