Position: Gaming Strategy Lead
Reports to: Executive Director Gaming
Role Purpose: The role of the Gaming Strategy Lead is to design, develop and continually manage NEOM Media’s gaming strategy to support the sector’s and NEOM’s overarching business objectives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Planning, Budget and Strategy
- Assist with the development of NEOM Media’s gaming strategy, from roadmap design to delivery
- Iterate/manage and track the gaming implementation plan and key KPIs
- Coordinate and manage strategic consulting resources where required
- Feed into gaming department budget forecasting and preparation
- P&L input and management for the approved initiatives
- Work closely with other sectors such as Sports (esports) to ensure synergies and requirements are captured in planning, strategy, and execution
- Development of financial analysis and business cases for gaming team plans and initiatives
- Development of strategic presentation materials, for delivery to key internal and/or external stakeholders
- Day-to-day hands-on management of initiatives in alignment with department/sector leadership and managing stakeholders, suppliers and industry players from concept to completion
- Drive best in class gaming industry activation initiatives, to achieve NEOM’s strategic goals and world-class ambition
Proof of concepts and pilot programs
- Plan, design and execute short-term initiatives that will contribute to the gaming sector development and meet sector’s overarching business objectives
- Engage with partners to enrich the offering for the proof of concepts and initial business development
- Identify key partner requirements to work with NEOM and structure tailored proposals and value propositions for attraction and deals
- Potentially prepare, manage and facilitate partnership agreements
- Collaborate with NEOM stakeholders to shape offering and pilot programs
Business development and account management
- Conduct planning and execution of business development activities to attract gaming companies and ecosystem players to NEOM
Potentially engage in day-to-day relationship management with potential and existing partners and gaming companies
BACKGROUND, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Deep proven experience of strategy development, ideally within one of the major strategic consulting firms.
- Experience of managing external strategic consultants for sprint-based projects as-and-when required.
- Business experience within the gaming industry, ideally within a senior management position.
- Strong knowledge and experience regarding video game development and the gaming ecosystem.
- Experience developing business plans & cashflows. Ideally, experience founding a business.
- Track record of successful end-to-end delivery of projects and programs, from briefing and conceptualization through to onsite management, execution, and evaluation.
- Ideally, experience of founding a business.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across all levels.
- Third party and supplier management.
- Experience of founding a business is preferable.
- Experience of working with NEOM is preferable.
- Experience of working in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is preferable but not essential.
International travel may be required dependent on the project
Qualifications
- Degree, MSc, preferable
- Relevant industry qualifications
