Duties and Responsibilities
3. 1 Undertakes repairs/renewal of pipework systems utilising screwed and welded
fittings.
3.2 Undertakes emergency plumbing work within the hospital estate, peripheral clinics,
and hospital.
3.3 Works as part of maintenance deparfrnent shift rota.
3.4 Responsible for ensuring that works are completed in a tidy and efficient manner and
areas of work are clean during and following the completion of repairs.
3.5 Undertakes preventative and corrective maintenance on plumbing systems and repair
of copper, PVC, cast iron, G.I., and black iron pipelines, toilets, bidets, shower,
drains and ancillary valves / equipment, etc...
3.6 Be able to gas weld and solder.
3.7 Protects and upholds the rights of the patients and their families.
3.8 Participates in quality improvement and patient safety activities and attends quality
improvernent educational activities as appropriate.
3.9 Adheres to infection control guidelines.
