Senior Procurement Engineer

Job Summary:

The Procurement Engineer will manage the end-to-end supply chain for OCCE's construction projects. This includes leading a team of procurement specialists, overseeing the implementation and optimization of the company's ERP system, and ensuring timely delivery of all necessary materials, equipment, and services to support ongoing projects. The Procurement Engineer will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to drive efficiency and minimize project delays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of procurement specialists, setting clear goals, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and processes to drive efficiency and optimization across the organization
  • Oversee the implementation, configuration, and optimization of the company's ERP system to streamline procurement and supply chain management activities
  • Manage supplier relationships, including qualification, contract negotiation, and performance monitoring
  • Oversee inventory management, logistics, and distribution operations
  • Collaborate with project teams to coordinate procurement activities and address supply chain issues
  • Analyze data and develop reports to track procurement performance and identify improvement areas
  • Recommend and implement technology-driven solutions to enhance procurement and supply chain processes


Skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in construction
  • Proficient in using procurement, ERP, and supply chain management software
  • Strong project management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and industry regulations

Skills:

  • Expertise in developing and implementing procurement strategies and plans
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team of procurement specialists
  • Extensive knowledge of ERP system implementation, configuration, and optimization
  • Ability to oversee inventory management, logistics, and distribution operations
  • Knowledge of supply chain best practices, including category management and spend analysis
  • Strong project management skills to coordinate procurement activities with project timelines and requirements
  • Ability to identify and mitigate supply chain risks that could impact project schedules and budgets
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities to optimize procurement processes and identify cost-savings opportunities
  • Ability to think strategically and provide recommendations that align with the company's overall business objectives
  • Strong problem-solving skills to quickly address and resolve supply chain-related issues
