JOB DESCRIPTION



ASSET & EXPERIENCE:

  • Assist the Director of Finance in developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the organization's financial performance.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks that may impact the organization's financial position, and present findings to senior management.
  • Assist with the management of the organization's cash flow, including monitoring liquidity, forecasting cash needs, and optimizing working capital.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with all financial reporting requirements.
  • Stay informed about changes in financial regulations, accounting standards, and industry best practices, and make recommendations for process improvements as needed.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Monitor cash flow projections and liquidity management to ensure adequate funding for operations and optimize working capital.

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to finance team members, fostering a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with department heads and project managers to develop and monitor departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with overall financial goals and objectives.
  • Schedule shifts and allocate tasks effectively within the finance team, considering business needs and staff availability.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to finance team members for continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Address staff issues or conflicts promptly and professionally, seeking resolution in a fair manner.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating excellent financial management and teamwork skills.

  • Support the financial planning and budgeting process by preparing financial projections, analysing variances, and providing recommendations for improving financial performance.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in financial operations, implementing initiatives to enhance efficiency and profitability.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, incorporating relevant innovations into operations.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement strategic initiatives to attract and retain customers and enhance financial performance.
  • Participate in the development of financial forecasts and business plans to support strategic decision-making and long-term growth initiatives.
  • Monitor financial performance metrics and adjust strategies to achieve revenue targets and financial goals.




EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations, including GAAP.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software (e.g., ERP systems).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of effectively managing and developing a team.
  • Commitment to integrity, ethics, and professional excellence in all aspects of financial management.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems and software, such as ADP, Paychex, or similar systems, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of payroll administration, including payroll processing, tax withholding, benefits administration, and compliance with payroll regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse payroll data, identify trends, and provide insights to support financial decision-making.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for interacting with employees, department heads, external vendors, and senior management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address discrepancies and implement solutions.
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including HR, finance, and IT departments.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changes in payroll laws, regulations, and technology, and implement necessary updates or enhancements.
