The Senior Design Manager - Structural is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of structural design projects from inception through completion. Description Key Responsibilities: 1 Project Management: * Lead and manage structural design projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. * Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans. * Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and efficient project delivery. * Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure project objectives are met. * Design Leadership: * Provide technical leadership and guidance to the structural design team. * Oversee the preparation of design documents, including drawings, specifications, and calculations. * Review and approve structural designs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements. * Conduct design reviews and ensure design solutions meet client expectations and project goals. * Team Management: * Supervise, mentor, and develop junior engineers and designers. * Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment. * Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members. * Identify training and development needs for the team. * Quality Assurance: * Implement and maintain quality control processes and procedures. * Ensure all designs meet the highest standards of safety, functionality, and sustainability. * Conduct site visits and inspections to verify design implementation and resolve any on-site issues. * Client and Stakeholder Engagement: * Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders on structural design matters. * Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities. * Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to clients and stakeholders. * Innovation and Continuous Improvement: * Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices. * Promote and implement innovative design solutions and sustainable practices. * Lead initiatives to improve design processes, tools, and methodologies. * Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. * Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in structural design and engineering, with at least 10 years in a managerial or leadership role. * Licenses/Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) license required.
