Job Details

Beond is the world's first premium leisure airline, flying an all-lie-flat Airbus fleet, and is standing up new Air Operator Certificates in Bahrain (BCAA) and Saudi Arabia (GACA).

The Chief Inspector is appointed by, and reports to, the Accountable Executive (independent of the Director of Maintenance), and is responsible for:

  • Administer the required inspection programme and maintain the Required Inspection Items (RII) list.
  • Set inspection standards and oversee the inspector cadre and maintenance quality assurance.
  • Ensure inspection independence and integrity of airworthiness determinations.
  • Audit maintenance activities and records and drive corrective action.
  • Interface with GACA on inspection and quality matters.

This is a required management position under GACAR Part 121.45.

The post is full-time and the successful candidate must be acceptable to GACA (the President) based on experience, competence and knowledge, with a full understanding of the GACAR, the operations specifications, applicable airworthiness requirements and the operations manual (GACAR 121.45(e), (g)).

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Hold a mechanic certificate with both airframe and powerplant (A&P) ratings, held for at least 3 years (GACAR 121.49(d)(1)).
  • At least 3 years' maintenance experience on different types of large aircraft (10+ seats), including 1 year as a maintenance inspector (GACAR 121.49(d)(2)).
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience maintaining the same category and class of aircraft (GACAR 121.49(d)(3)).
  • Full understanding of the GACAR, the operations specifications, applicable airworthiness requirements and the operations manual; must be acceptable to GACA (GACAR 121.45(e), (g)).
  • Desirable Airbus type experience.
  • Strong quality-systems and required-inspection background.
  • Fluent English; Arabic advantageous.
