About the Opportunity

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Medina is seeking a dedicated Consultant, Gastroenterology to join its medical team. This full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care within a leading medical institution.

Role Summary

The Consultant, Gastroenterology is responsible for the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases and conditions within the Gastroenterology specialty. This role involves providing expert medical care in strict accordance with current medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and the Hospital’s established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care across all aspects of Gastroenterology, aligned with approved clinical privileges.
• Deliver timely inpatient and emergency room consultations upon request, adhering to prescribed hospital timeframes.
• Ensure accurate, legible, and timely completion of all medical records.
• Participate in on-call services, maintaining availability and response within hospital policy guidelines.
• Conduct daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for transfer or discharge.
• Ensure transfer and discharge orders are documented 24 hours prior to the planned event.
• Perform any additional clinical responsibilities related to the specialty as assigned.
• Provide orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows.
• Actively participate in departmental educational activities and training programs.
• Engage in national and international medical conferences to stay abreast of advancements.
• Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and fulfill continuing education requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Seven (7) years of training in a relevant specialty or subspecialty.
• Postgraduate training experience must be equal to or exceed seven (7) years in the subspecialty.
• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of overall experience is required for this role.
