ROLE PURPOSE

The role exists to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high performance software solutions within the Mobility domain, ensuring alignment with business objectives and digital transformation initiatives by leveraging modern development frameworks, microservices architecture, and agile delivery practices.

Key Activities

1. Application & System Development

• Develop, test, and deploy backend and frontend applications using modern technologies (Java, Spring Boot, React, Angular).
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code aligned with development standards.
• Participate in full software development lifecycle (SDLC).

1. Solution Design & Architecture

• Design scalable, secure, and high-performing system architectures.
• Contribute to defining microservices-based solutions and distributed systems.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.

1. Integration & API Development

• Develop and maintain APIs and system integrations across platforms.
• Ensure seamless data exchange using technologies like Kafka and RESTful services.
• Support integration with internal and external government systems.

1. Application Maintenance & Enhancement

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve system defects.
• Enhance existing applications by adding new features and optimizing functionality.
• Ensure system reliability and availability.

1. Agile Delivery & Collaboration

• Work in agile teams to deliver features iteratively.
• Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and designers.

1. Performance Optimization

• Monitor application performance and identify improvement areas.
• Optimize database queries, caching using Redis, and system efficiency.
• Ensure scalability and responsiveness of applications.

1. Testing & Quality Assurance

• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging.
• Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices.

1. Security & Compliance in Development

• Apply secure coding practices and address vulnerabilities.
• Ensure compliance with organizational cybersecurity requirements.
• Maintain data protection and system security standards.

1. Policies, Processes & Procedures

• Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

1. Information Security

• Comply with all relevant information security practices and standards to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Academic and professional qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in software development, cloud technologies, or microservices architecture are preferred.

Years and Nature of Experience

• 2-4 years of experience in development roles.
• Hands-on experience in building and maintaining applications or systems.
• Familiarity with modern development practices and Agile methodologies.
