Job Title: Electrical Engineer Job Summary The Electrical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, integrity, and performance of the plant's electrical systems and equipment. The role provides technical support for maintenance, troubleshooting, reliability improvement, and continuous optimization of electrical assets to maximize equipment availability, operational efficiency, and safety. Key Responsibilities Provide engineering support for the maintenance, operation, and reliability of electrical systems and equipment. Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and reduce downtime. Troubleshoot electrical failures and implement effective corrective and preventive solutions. Support preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs. Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and participate in reliability improvement initiatives. Provide technical expertise for high and medium voltage power systems, protective relaying, motor controls, rectifier systems, transformers, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Motor Control Centers (MCCs), and electric arc furnace systems. Ensure compliance with electrical engineering standards, safety regulations, and Arc Flash requirements. Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability teams to improve plant performance and asset reliability. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy industrial environments such as smelting, mining, steel, metals, or similar process industries. Hands-on experience with high and medium voltage power systems, protective relaying, motor controls, transformers, rectifier systems, VFDs, MCCs, and electric arc furnace systems. Good understanding of Arc Flash requirements and applicable standards, including NEC and NFPA 70. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of reliability methodologies, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Preventive Maintenance (PM), and Predictive Maintenance (PdM). Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with electrical engineering standards and industry best practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering documentation. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
