Roles & Responsibilities
Develop, program, test, and troubleshoot PLC-based automation systems.
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of electrical control panels, PLC systems, and CNC machines.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to electrical, automation, and control systems to minimize equipment downtime.
Configure, commission, and maintain field devices, including sensors, actuators, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), flow meters, and other process instrumentation.
Interpret and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and P&IDs.
Develop and maintain PLC programs using IEC 61131-3 programming languages, including:
Ladder Diagram (LD) for discrete control applications
Structured Text (ST) for complex mathematical calculations, algorithms, and advanced control logic
Other IEC 61131-3 languages as required
Perform PLC and HMI modifications, testing, and system commissioning.
Troubleshoot communication networks and industrial protocols between PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and field instruments.
Support machine upgrades, retrofits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, company procedures, and applicable industry regulations.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including PLC backups, electrical drawings, and maintenance records.
Coordinate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and process efficiency.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent Diploma.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in PLC programming and industrial automation.
Hands-on experience with:
- Sensors
- Actuators
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- CNC control systems
- Flow meters
- Process instrumentation
Strong experience in electrical and controls maintenance of control panels and CNC machines.
Solid understanding of industrial automation systems and process control.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Electrical control panel maintenance and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in multiple IEC 61131-3 programming languages, particularly: Ladder Diagram (LD) and Structured Text (ST)
