NEOM Green Hydrogen Company Limited (NGHC) NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) is an equal joint venture between Air Products, ACWA Power, and NEOM responsible for the development of the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project in the autonomous NEOM region within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Project will see the construction of the world’s largest plant to produce green hydrogen at scale, producing up to 600 tonnes of carbon-free hydrogen per day through the integration of approximately 4GW of Solar and Wind energy. The plant will produce green ammonia for export to global markets and is scheduled to be onstream in 2026.
JOB DETAILS:Division: GH2 Operations. REPORTS TO: GH2 Maintenance Manager. LIAISE/COOPERATE WITH: Plant operation staff, technical support teams, purchasing, materials management teams and contractors.
POSITION SUMMARY:The Instrumentation Supervisor is a key member of the maintenance team for the GHE site in Neom. This position will be responsible for the instrumentation maintenance of the plants (Hydrogen, Ammonia, ASU, Utilities, and Jetty). The selected candidate will build strong relationships with the plant operating staff, technical support teams, as well as contractors. The position reports to the Maintenance Manager of GH2.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:Working alongside the maintenance manager, must build the instrumentation maintenance team. Lead a team of 10 - 20 Instrumentation technicians and planners. Will be part of the working group that will be responsible for creating/reviewing the preventive maintenance plans. Drive the Instrumentation maintenance team towards compliance with maintenance performance metrics such as PM compliance, monthly spending vs budget and safety program participation. Ensure 100% compliance with regulatory and very high priority maintenance activities. Work with the maintenance and operations teams to prioritize, schedule, and perform all daily, weekly, and long-term maintenance activities. Prepare weekly and monthly reports. Coaching and development of Instrument technicians Availability to take calls after hours and weekends. Work with the materials management department to update spare parts information as necessary and to support inventory management activities. Elaborate technical specifications describing the scope of services for bidding process to select contractors. Provide support in the GHE site Turnarounds preparation. Actively participate in NGHC safety programs, promote, and enforce safety rules and good housekeeping methods. Ensuring application and compliance with all training, procedures, standards, specifications, KSA codes and statutory requirements. Continually evaluating maintenance methodologies, preventative/predictive programs, work practices, etc., to improve equipment integrity and reliability. Promote resource sharing across NGHC Operations. Rapid response and correction of regular and unplanned maintenance to prevent business loss. Provide support preparing of maintenance budgets for the production plants. Problem solving, making diagnoses, and implementing initiatives for problem resolution are part of his responsibilities. Actively participate in the pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up of the plants. Creating maintenances procedures as needed. Establish clear objectives for direct reports, communicating objectives and providing feedback through the annual performance review. Contractor management according AP procedures. Lead the implementation of changes through the MOC process. Approve and control overtime of technicians.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:10 - 20 direct and up to 50 contractors during turnarounds.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:The incumbent should possess a minimum Diploma or bachelor’s degree (additional preference) in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience and a minimum of 15 years of related maintenance management experience in the industrial gas, chemical, refining and or related industry.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Experience in hazardous area instrumentation and safety systems (SIS, SIL). Understanding of ISO standards, IEC codes, and industry best practices. Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) such as SAP PM.
MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:15 Years of Total Experience.5 Years of Managerial Experience.
SKILLS / TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS:Engineering degree. Candidates must possess a strong safety focus and background.15+ years in a petrochemical with instrumentation maintenance experience. Must have extensive experience in calibration, COMMUNICATION PROTOCOLS, HART, MODBUS, PROFIBUS, analyzers, DCS, control valves electric and pneumatic, transmitters, switches and ATEX competency. Strong organizational planning skills with the ability to set priorities. Prior budgetary management and development experience is a plus. Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills are critical to the position. High ethical standards - unwilling to compromise on worker safety and regulatory compliance requirements. Reading drawings such as Piping and instrumentation, electric and logic diagrams. Understanding of operating plant environment. Strong SAP skills are desired, ability to learn is crucial. Strong communicator written and oral. Strong and effective coordinator. Microsoft software skills, particularly Excel. Report writing skills.
