Job Objective:Job requirement is to act as a Systems & Network Administrator to install, manage and support our VMware virtualized infrastructure, Windows-based systems, SAN Storage and enterprise network environment, with additional exposure to Linux systems administration. The role focuses primarily on VMware, Windows, SAN Storage and networking, while also requiring basic operational support for Linux servers and services. Should be able to fulfill Level-03 roll as Network Engineer to complete Network package involving Design / Implementations / Commissioning. Prepare network related artifacts for Technical proposals. Part of Project team to provide network solution leading till successful implementation.
Roles & Responsibilities:
VMware & Virtualization Design, deploy, manage, and optimize VMware environments (v Sphere, ESXi, v Center) in a multi-site architecture. Perform VM provisioning, snapshots, cloning, migrations, and lifecycle management. Monitor and troubleshoot performance, availability, and capacity issues. Manage storage integration (SAN/NAS) and backup solutions for virtual workloads. Apply patches, upgrades, and security updates to VMware infrastructure. Windows System Administration Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers. Manage system performance, logging, disk usage, and OS-level security hardening. Handle user/group management, permissions, cron jobs, and package management. Troubleshoot system-level issues related to CPU, memory, I/O, and processes. Assist with Group Policy updates and access control changes. Support basic troubleshooting for Windows-based services and applications. Implement Active Directory services in a multi-site architecture. Implement basic automation and scripting (Power Shell, Python, or similar). Install and configure Windows Failover cluster and integrate enterprise applications for high availability. Manage IT common services such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, RADIUS etc. Network Administration Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls). Administer LAN / WAN, VLANs, routing, NAT, VPNs, and firewall policies. Monitor network performance, availability, and security events. Design & implementations of redundancies, single point of failures, solution optimizations. Capability to prepare High Level Design, Low-Level designs & test plans. Provide Network infrastructure capacity planning. Comprehensive proposal on vendor selection with defined set of offering on each of them and inline to the business line. Perform multivendor integrations, multisystem integrations under one roof of Enterprise Data Center Network. Owner of Network system deployment and validations along with fellow Network peers. Well versed in design, implementations of security layer. Perform troubleshooting of Data Network and Security Layer network to find quick resolutions. Provide troubleshooting on Network analysis and diagnosis of complex network problems. Prepare Network maintenance strategy, interaction with vendor for smooth running of infrastructure. Periodic intervention in infrastructure and suggestions on mitigating EOL risks, devising upgrade strategies. The individual shall support Bids Activities involving Network work packages for any business section and in particular to Security Network. Shall be able to single handedly perform staging of Network equipment ranging from Core / Distribution / Access layers according the high level design. Undertake and manage Level-03 troubleshooting activities and plan customer facing activities and to take ownership of Level-02 escalated Network cases. Owner of vendor tickets of Network issues for full end to end resolutions. Storage Administration Configure, manage, and troubleshoot storage infrastructure (SAN storage arrays, FC switches). Create storage pools, RAID groups, storage volumes and present storage to servers. Monitor storage performance, availability, and security events. Linux Administration Install, configure and manage Linux Server environments. Perform user and group management and integration with Active Directory. Handle user/group management, permissions, cron jobs, and package management. Troubleshoot system-level issues related to CPU, memory, I/O, and processes. Implement basic automation and scripting (Bash, Python, or similar). Maintenance, Security & Operations Ensure backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures are followed. Apply security best practices, patching, and vulnerability remediation. Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews. Documentation & Collaboration Maintain accurate documentation for infrastructure, configurations, and procedures. Work closely with application, Dev Ops, and security teams to support operations. Participate in on-call rotations and scheduled maintenance activities as required.
Work Experience Requirements:Strong hands-on experience with VMware virtualization platforms. Linux administration experience in production environments. Working knowledge of enterprise networking concepts. Experience in supporting Windows Server and Active Directory environments. Experience working with SAN storage arrays. Network expert in Switching & Routing domain of Data Network in lieu to tailor the Security Network Design / Implementation / Commissioning. Shall possess expertise knowledge of Layer 2 protocols, Spanning tree protocols, and all redundancy protocol. Shall possess sound knowledge in RFC related to Routing, Switching, Multicasting, VSS, VRF, VRF-Lite, Security, Firewalls, WAN routing, VOIP. Shall possess strong Data Network skill sets required to customize Routing & Switching concepts to be tailor made for company project ranging from different security Networks to Data Center Networks. The individual shall possess strong background in leading Network & Security implementations of large Datacenters formerly. Skilled to single handedly build a Test bed to test out the Network Solutions as a prototype. Shall be expert to derive offline configurations for provisioning of production environment Data center Network & Security Network Setup. Take ownership of the Network Architectural documentation. Act as Associate Infrastructure Architect and define Network Architectural work package addressing end-to-end solution for Data center Design and Implementations. Lead troubleshooting activities of Data Center Network ranging from Switching, Routing, Security Network Troubleshooting, VOIP troubleshooting. Possess Industry standard experience in Design & Implementation of Data Center Networks with a capacity of Level-02 and above.
Qualification, Certification & Educational Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience.7-10+ years of experience in systems and network administration.
Preferred Skills VMware certifications (VCP, VCAP). Linux certifications (RHCSA / RHCE, LPIC). Windows certifications (MCSE, MCSA). Networking certifications (CCNA, CCNP). Familiarity with monitoring tools (Zabbix, Prometheus, Nagios, Grafana). Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, scripting). Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities. Clear communication and documentation skills. Proactive, reliability-focused mindset.
