Job Purpose"To develop and lead the strategic sourcing and procurement of metal feedstock, specifically Aluminum and scrap materials (UBC and classified scrap), for Ma’aden’s operations. The role is responsible for securing long-term supply stability, optimizing costs through LME-based benchmarking, and driving sustainability initiatives by increasing local content and scrap recycling rates in alignment with Ma’aden’s ESG goals."

Key Accountabilities Strategic Sourcing & Category Management:Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for metal procurement, focusing on Aluminum, UBC (Used Beverage Cans), and classified scrap products to ensure security of supply. Secure long-term agreements for metal supply to stabilize costs, optimize commercial terms, and ensure operational continuity. Support strategic initiatives to increase scrap recycling and enhance Local Content engagement, contributing to the company's sustainability and ESG targets.
Market Intelligence & Cost Optimization:Monitor global Aluminum and scrap markets, including geopolitical, environmental, and regulatory factors that impact supply chains. Maintain deep knowledge of scrap market dynamics—specifically pricing trends, regional supply-demand balance, and recycling flows—to ensure the best commercial outcomes. Apply advanced cost modeling and market analysis to evaluate supplier bids against LME (London Metal Exchange) benchmarks and market indices. Supplier Management & Compliance:Identify, pre-qualify, and onboard global and local suppliers, leveraging company compliance standards and ERP systems to maintain a robust vendor base. Negotiate high-value contracts and pricing agreements, ensuring alignment with LME benchmarks and internal financial targets. Ensure all procurement activities strictly adhere to company policies, the authority matrix, and ethical sourcing standards. Risk Management:Assess risks related to scrap quality, material availability, and logistics complexities; implement robust contingency plans to mitigate potential supply disruptions. Promote sustainable sourcing practices through responsible metal procurement, minimizing environmental impact.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Minimum requirement). Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CSCP) is preferred. Minimum Experience:10+ years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management. Extensive experience in Metal Procurement, specifically with UBC(Used Beverage Cans), scrap and classified aluminum scrap products. Proven track record of negotiating contracts based on LME benchmarks and managing commodity risk. Skills:Technical: In-depth understanding of the Aluminum scrap market, recycling processes, and scrap grading specifications. Commercial: Strong negotiation skills with the ability to structure complex long-term agreements. Analytical: Proficiency in cost modeling, market analysis, and risk assessment.
