Job Summary The Legal Manager will oversee the legal function, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations while providing strategic legal advice to support business objectives. This role involves developing legal strategies, managing legal risks, and overseeing contract administration. The Legal Manager will act as a key advisor on legal matters, regulatory affairs, and governance frameworks, and will represent the organization in litigation and other legal proceedings.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of the job:
Legal Strategy, Standards, Policies & Procedures:Develop and implement legal strategies that align with the organization’s goals and objectives. Establish and maintain legal standards, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Create governance frameworks that support ethical business practices and mitigate legal risks. Legal Advisory and Litigation:Provide legal advice and support to management and departments on various legal issues, including corporate governance, employment law, and commercial transactions. Manage and coordinate litigation efforts, working with external counsel as necessary to represent the organization in legal proceedings. Develop strategies for dispute resolution, including negotiation and settlement discussions. Regulatory Affairs:Monitor and interpret changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organization’s operations. Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards. Prepare and submit necessary regulatory filings and documentation. Legal Compliance:Develop and implement compliance programs to ensure adherence to legal standards and internal policies. Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify potential legal issues and areas for improvement. Provide training and guidance to employees on legal compliance matters. Contract Administration:Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts to ensure favorable terms and compliance with legal standards. Maintain a centralized contract management system to track contract milestones, renewals, and obligations. Collaborate with various departments to ensure that contracts align with organizational objectives and risk tolerance. Reporting and Documentation:Prepare and maintain accurate legal documentation, including contracts, compliance reports, and litigation files. Provide regular updates to senior management and the Board on legal risks, compliance issues, and litigation status.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Requirements:Education and Qualifications:A Bachelor’s Degree in from an accredited law school; a Master’s degree is a plus. Professional certifications in compliance or corporate governance is a plus. Knowledge and Experiences:10+ years of experience in a legal role, with a focus on corporate law, compliance, and contract management. Proven experience in managing litigation and regulatory affairs.
Skills: Language: English (Fluent). Computer: Proficiency in legal research tools, contract management software, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
