Job Title Web & Digital Specialist Department Shared services Role Summary We are seeking a dedicated Web & Digital Specialist to own the day-to-day operation, development, and optimisation of the company group websites. This role is accountable for website design and development (Word Press/PHP), SEO and content updates, request triage, stakeholder coordination, and ensuring websites meet business, performance and security governance standards. Key Responsibilities• Fully own the lifecycle of all corporate websites (approx. 8–10 sites): design changes, development, content updates, testing, and deployments.• Develop, maintain and extend Word Press environments (themes, plugins, multisite setups) with strong PHP coding practices.• Triage, prioritise and resolve website requests and incidents; maintain a clear backlog and SLAs for Sales & Marketing requests.• Implement and maintain on‑page and technical SEO best practices: metadata, schema markup, sitemaps, robots, canonicalization, crawling/ indexability, and site speed improvements.• Monitor site performance and user analytics; propose and implement improvements to UX, accessibility and conversion points in coordination with Marketing.• Coordinate content approvals with business and website owners; manage the content publishing workflow and version control.• Work with external vendors, freelancers and contractors when needed; manage scope, deliverables and quality.• Maintain staging and production environments, backups, deployment processes and release notes.• Apply security patches and hardening measures to Word Press core/plugins/themes, and coordinate vulnerability remediation with Cybersecurity (perform fixes after security team approval where required).• Maintain documentation: runbooks, SOPs for site updates, deployment checklists, and onboarding guides for site owners.• Provide training and support for website owners and Marketing users on the CMS and publishing workflows. Required Skills & Experience• 6+ years experience in web development with a focus on Word Press and PHP.• Strong understanding of Word Press architecture (themes, plugins, multisite), database (MySQL), and hosting environments.• Practical SEO experience (technical and on‑page) with measurable outcomes.• Skilled in HTML5, CSS3, Java Script, and responsive design principles.• Comfortable with Linux web servers (Apache/Nginx), DNS basics, SSL management and CI/CD deployments.• Experience with Git, version control and deployment pipelines.• Able to read and remediate findings from penetration tests or vulnerability scans (while working with Cybersecurity for governance).• Strong stakeholder communication, coordination and project management skills. Desirable / Bonus• Experience with multisite Word Press and large site portfolios.• Google Analytics / GA4, Google Search Console, Lighthouse, and other SEO/analytics tooling experience.• Experience with PHP frameworks, caching layers, and CDN configuration.• Prior experience working in shared services or matrix organisations.• Arabic language skills and prior GCC experience are a plus. Education & Certifications• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Digital Marketing or related field — or equivalent practical experience.• Relevant certifications (Digital Marketing Certification, Google Analytics, SEO, Word Press) are advantageous. KPIs & Success Measures• Average ticket/request response time and SLA adherence for Marketing website requests.• Website uptime and number of production incidents per quarter.• Measurable SEO improvements (organic traffic, rankings for target pages) over defined periods.• Page speed/Lighthouse score improvements on priority pages.• Time-to-remediate for high/critical vulnerabilities (in coordination with Security).• Quality of deployments (rollback rate, post-deploy incidents). Working Relationships• Works primarily with (Marketing Manager and content owners).• Regular collaboration with IT/Cybersecurity for governance, vulnerability remediation and security approvals.• Coordinates with external vendors, SMEs and freelance developers as needed.
